2006 Allandale Winery Chardonnay
The 2006 vintage was memorable as being one with very low cropping
levels of intensely flavoured fruit. While 2006 Chardonnay follows
very much in the "Allandale" style it shows very rich/ripe
peach flavours balanced with new French and American oak characters.
There is great length of palate from this wine and a bready complexity
from aging on yeast less. The finish is crisp and fresh. A versatile
wine which can be matched with a wide variety of food from seafood
to veal. The 2006 Chardonnay will improve with short to medium
term cellaring.
