Fresh black plum, anise, Christmas cake and
spice evoke ripeness and complexity
A generous palate of ripe black cherry and plum
characters integrated with elegant French oak,
fine tannins and a long finish.
This wine will develop and mature for 10 years.
The following of the King Malbec continues to
grow and the 2004 vintage provides a powerful,
inky and dense Malbec with the complexities of
spice, anise and Christmas cake. One of the best
vintages yet.
Room temperature - 18o C.
Enjoy with a range of full flavoured meat and
cheese dishes.
- 91 Points - Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, Dec. 2006
"This Franklin River producer presented an impressive
portfolio...The 2004 'King' Malbec can compete with many of
the best from Argentina. Its impressive purple color is followed
by blue and black berry aromas with a hint of spice. This pure
wine has outstanding depth and concentration and a 40+ second
finish. It can be drunk now, particularly if paired with a
dry-aged rib eye, but will be even better in 4-6 years."
