The History
The Gösser brand originates from the former monastery of Göss that was founded in 1010 in Göss, the ‘green heart of Austria’. Today’s modern brewery still stands on the grounds of the original convent. The brewing tradition of Gösser dates back to the 12th century. The German name and tagline “Gut, Besser, Gösser” conveys the strong connotation to its Austrian - Germanic heritage.
The Gösser brewery stands in the middle of a majestic landscape in the Southern-Austrian region of Styria. It is surrounded by high mountains, rugged forests and crystal clear water.
Gösser is made only out of the best natural raw materials and ingredients, one of the most important ingredients being purest, crystal clear water.
