After 16 years as a senior winemaker for Orlando Wyndham, Ivan Limb will produce the first wine from his own vineyards this year. The vineyards, located in the Barossa Valley, total 111 acres and are planted to Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Mouvedre. Limb will bottle two varietals from the 2000 vintage, a Shiraz and a Cabernet, both carrying the Patterson Hill designation.

During his years with Orlando Wyndham, Ivan Limb won more than 300 medals and trophies for his wines at international and Australian competitions. He will make the Limb Estate wines at the highly respected Trevor Jones winery in Lyndoch. Limb plans eventually to expand production to 3,000 cases each of Shiraz and Cabernet as well as 1,000 cases of a Shiraz, Cabernet, Mouvedre blend.
