Total Beverage Solution (TBS) announced today that it has closed
on an acquisition of four wine brands owned and marketed by William
Grant & Sons. Brands acquired by TBS are Tiziano, Scarlatta,
and Altanuta from Italy, and Big Red Monster from California.
Additionally, William Grant & Sons has assigned Total Beverage
Solution exclusive import rights to Marco Negri, whose vineyard
is located in Costigliole d’Asti in the Piedmont region of
Italy. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
“We are excited to have concluded this cooperative brand
purchase from such a well respected company as William Grant & Sons.
We were looking to expand our presence in the fine wine category,
and they were looking to refocus their resources against their
core brands, so it is a transaction that helps both of our companies” commented
TBS President Dave Pardus.
The TBS portfolio includes such brands as Tohu Wines from the
Marlborough region of New Zealand – the first Maori owned
wine company, Weihenstephan Beer from Germany - the world’s
oldest brewery, Edradour Distillery - Scotland’s smallest
distillery, and Greene King Brewery - one of the UK’s largest
independent brewers.
With this acquisition, Total Beverage Solution’s pro-forma
annual revenue is anticipated to be approximately $20 million,
and its portfolio will sell over 120,000 nine liter cases of wine,
500,000 case equivalents of beer, and over 10,000 cases of spirits
in the US Beverage Alcohol market.
Total Beverage Solution was founded in 2002, and its mission is
to be a preferred beverage alcohol supplier for the US market.
The company seeks to represent and own brands that have market
presence but are not large enough to be targets of the big multinationals,
and to place those brands strategically with distributors market
by market in the challenging beverage alcohol distribution system.
