2005 Next Generation Chardonnay
Winemaker: Stephen Obst

Residual Sugar: 1.2 g/L
Titratable Acidity: 6.1 g/L
pH: 3.44
Winemaker’s Notes:
Colour: Pale gold with hints of green.
Bouquet: The aroma is vibrant and lifted, it is richly scented
with fruit aromas, combined with fresh zesty flavours of melon
and citrus.
Palate: The palate displays fresh peach and citrus fruit flavours,
it is well balanced by a creamy rich mid palate. Whilst a lively
acidity complements the palate richness, this wine has a long refreshing
finish.
Cellaring Potential: This wine has been made to drink upon release
for maximum enjoyment of the fresh and vibrant flavours.
2005 Vintage: Early January rain caused some initial concern in
the lead up to the 2005 vintage but as always the skies cleared
allowing the vines to dry out before the fruit was harvested. Conditions
remained warm and dry throughout the summer and although the fruit
developed later the grapes had excellent fruit flavours and kept
their natural acidity which showed in the resultant wine.
Serving Suggestions: This Chardonnay will complement all food
types, in particular fish, stir-fry and pasta.

"A new line of wines, the NXG Chardonnay represents a solid value,
with abundant aromas of citrus, flowers and anise and reasonably
complex flavors to match. It’s medium to full-bodied, but kept
in balance by decent acidity and hints at minerality on the finish."
