2004 Next Generation Shiraz

The NXG Winemakers Selection wines are fresh, varietal wines made to showcase the clean, ripe fruit grown in Australian vineyards.

Winemaker: Stephen Obst
Region: South Eastern Australia

Technical Details:

Alc/Vol: 13.5%
Residual Sugar: 2.0 g/L
Titratable Acidity: 6.8 g/L
pH: 3.50

Winemaker’s Notes:

Colour: Deep Red

Bouquet: Quite an intense, lifted nose showing dark berry fruits and plums with hints of anise and fruit pastille.

Palate: This Shiraz is rich to the palate, with plenty of plum and black pepper flavours that are a delight to taste.

Cellaring Potential: This wine is of a style that should be consumed whilst the flavours are young and fresh.

2004 Vintage: Good spring rains and mild conditions during flowering led to a later than average harvest, this coupled with cool ripening conditions during January and February maximized colour and tannin development and varietal fruit flavours.

Serving Suggestions: This Shiraz is well suited with all meat, game and pasta dishes.
