The Nistri family, who has worked in Italy’s wine sector since 1865, has owned the Vignole vineyard since 1970. A self-contained estate-driven winery, Vignole features 52 acres of planted vines located in the heart of the Chianti Classico wine zone between the Pesa River valley and the town of Panzano.
Modernized to the highest level of Tuscan enology, the Vignole winery yields 100 percent estate-driven wine produced with contemporary planting techniques combined with traditional methods of the Chianti Classico wine zone. Vignole’s grapes are planted at elevations between 961 and 1050 feet on a hillside in the Conca d’ Oro or "the golden basin" region, highly recognized for superior grape quality.
The 2006 Chianti Classico is a rich and deep Sangiovese and Merlot-based wine that offers hints of black cherries, earthiness and licorice. The 2004 Chianti Classico Riserva is a Sangiovese and Cabernet medium to full-bodied wine that features layers of black cherries, menthol, grilled herbs, spices and leather. Both wines pair wonderfully with game and roasted red meats, as well as mature cheeses. To learn more,
