Not only does she make sure the business keeps going through managing customers and payroll, planning trips and managing budgets, she also makes sure the office personnel keeps going by keeping us stocked with coffee and snacks. Get to know our Super Multitasker, Andrea!
How long have you been working for TBS?
I started working for TBS on 4/7/2015, so I’ve been here for over two and a half years.
What is your title?
Accounts Receivable, Payroll & Office Manager
And what do you do in that role?
With A/R, I work on higher level distributor management ensuring our customers are paying their invoices on time, as well monitoring our market manager’s trade spend budgets. With H/R, I am highly involved in the onboarding process as well as updating employee records and managing payroll, among other projects. I also manage the day-to-day functions of our office, including making sure we all have our coffee and pretzels!
What is a day at TBS like in your shoes?
As a wearer of many hats, I don’t really have a consistent daily routine. With the tasks mentioned before, I make sure that we’re paid, our employees are paid, and that we have all the tools necessary to make us a great company!
Tell us a little about yourself:
I am a Charleston, SC native and I graduated from the College of Charleston. I got married a little over a year ago and my husband, Mat, and I just bought our first house where we live with our cat, Louis.
Favorite drink?
My favorite beer is a local one, Coast Brewing Company’s 32°/50° Kölsch. It’s a refreshing Kolsch style ale that can be enjoyed all year long, but I prefer it in the summertime especially at the brewery. For wine, I prefer whites, and I can’t remember the last time I had a white wine that wasn’t Kono Sauvignon Blanc!
What do you like best about working at TBS?
The first thing I noticed about TBS was how passionate this company is about its brands. These brands aren’t just products we’re trying to sell, they have stories and histories that are important and make them valuable. I then quickly realized that this passion TBS has easily transfers to its people. TBS cares about its employees, or I would say family, and their value! I also love the people I work with!
What is one thing at work you can’t do without?
I definitely can’t do anything without my computer, but my work is really powered by that first cup of coffee of the day!
Favorite place to travel?
I actually haven’t done too much traveling, or have gone too far from home before. I love visiting Asheville, NC for the views and the brews! Definitely looking forward to our upcoming trip to New Zealand in January!
Describe your perfect meal:
I love mostly all food and will try anything! My perfect meal would be a thick marinated steak, with mashed potatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts, and a chocolate mousse to finish it off.
A charity near and dear to your heart?
My favorite local charity is Charleston Animal Society which is the first No-Kill animal shelter in the Southeast. CAS helps so many animals in need and has made thousands of families happy with their adoptions, including us by giving us our cat, Louis!
What do you do in your free time?
I love spending time with my husband and friends visiting breweries and listening to live music. More recently I have gotten into cycling, and I am a part of a group called Charleston Cycle Chicks, a local club that promotes and advocates for women’s cycling in the greater Charleston area. I am so glad to be part of a great group of supportive women that offer me the ability to meet other women cyclists and better my own abilities.
If you could have one superpower, which would you choose?
Flying, but only if it didn’t mess up my hair!
Favorite pizza topping?
The original basic pizza topping: pepperoni!
Favorite ice cream flavor?
Chocolate Moose Tracks!
