How long have you been working for TBS?
September 28, 2010
What is your title?
Wine Brand Manager
And what do you do in that role?
I manage TBS wine brands from the bottom up. I have a wide range of responsibilities. For example: brand positioning, strategy, industry analysis, budgets, selling stories, educational tools, distributor trainings, technical sheets, social media, advertising, financial analysis, samplings, and new product development.
What is a day at TBS like in your shoes?
Beyond my daily routines – some days I am researching and writing presentations for suppliers or our sales force. Other days I am developing and executing marketing campaigns, such as Colombo’s Google advertising and social media strategy or Kono’s digital advertising plan.
Tell us a little about yourself:
I am a 4th generation of Miami, yet somehow never learned to be fluent in Spanish. I was lucky to grow up with three older brothers and a father who pushed me to be a strong, driven woman with a solid work ethic.
I currently live in downtown Charleston and absolutely love it! I have been with my husband and partner in crime, Jeff, for almost 13 years. We have two children. The oldest, Ajax, is a 9lbs fur-baby who thinks he is a Pitbull, and our youngest, Alexandra Claire, who just celebrated her 1st birthday this May!
My thirteen-year career in the alcohol business began at Bacardi USA. I have worked for large and small companies, which has given me the opportunity to develop an exceptionally wide-spectrum of work experience, skills, and abilities. While working for a small company has its limitations, it also has given me the chance to learn an enormous amount by truly managing brands and projects from the ground up. Working at TBS has developed me both professionally and personally. I am very grateful.
It depends on the moment…wine is usually my go to! Summer – unique whites or rosé, reds with dinner or chilly weather. I will drink bubbles anytime!
What do you like best about working at TBS?
I love the people at TBS. It’s an extension of my family. I also love the excitement and challenges that come along with our brands. Always learning and growing.
What is one thing at work you can’t do without?
Favorite place to travel?
Italy! One of the best trips of my life (and I travel A LOT). The people truly made that trip.
Describe your perfect meal:
I love ALL food! My favorite is ordering family style. I hate choosing just one meal. I want to try a little of everything.
Any charity near and dear to your heart?
I recently lost my brother. He was in the military and did two tours in Iraq. I am now involved in a charity that was near and dear to his heart, Hope for the Warriors.
What do you do in your free time?
As a family, we love all things water – fishing, lobstering, boating, sailing, diving, etc. Alexandra’s first offshore sail was at 7 days old!
If you could travel to one place on earth, right now, where would you go?
Favorite pizza topping?
Margarita with Burrata cheese
Best advice you ever received?
Good people always end up on top. Even though it might take time.
