Reserva Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Tasting Notes
Light greenish-yellow in color and highly aromatic. The nose shows tropical and citrus fruit notes, such as mango, passion fruit, and grapefruit with a light herbal touch accompanied by a backdrop that denotes its time in the barrel. The palate is fruity with refreshing acidity. Contact with the lees during aging and the contribution of the oak barrels lend the palate greater volume and texture, while the addition of a small portion of Sauvignon Gris adds to the long finish and fruity persistence.

History of Reserva Sauvignon Blanc 2017
The grapes for the Reserva Sauvignon Blanc come from Chilensis’ estate San Rafael vineyard in the Maule Valley (162 miles south of Santiago and 12.5 miles from the Andes Mountains range). The valley is geographically diverse, with a Mediterranean climate. Summers are warm and dry with a significant day-night temperature variation. Winters are cold and rainy. Most of the vineyard’s alluvial soils are loam to clay-loam in texture with a moderate fertility. Vigilant canopy management and cluster thinning during what was a relatively cool growing season led to a yield of four tons per acre.
