Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Tasting Notes
This pure and bright Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc has a vibrant fruit-driven nose bursting with tropical fruits and herbaceous characters. On the palate luscious flavours of citrus zest and pineapple combine with notes of currant leaf and sweet red pepper. Finely balanced with zesty acidity, an underlying minerality, and just a hint of residual sweetness this crisp and fresh wine leads to a perfectly long, dry, and persistent finish.
History of Sauvignon Blanc 2021
Grapes for this wine are grown on a range of both Kono owned sites and vineyards from dedicated growers located throughout the main viticultural areas of Marlborough. The Waihopai, Awatere, and Rapaura sub-regions are all represented in this blend, bringing a unique flavour profile to the finished wine. The 2020/2021 growing season produced a standout vintage due in part to the wild and wet spring that resulted in poor flowering conditions and lower crop levels throughout the Marlborough region. Perfect dry and warm conditions over the following summer resulted in ideal ripening conditions with harvest beginning much earlier than average on the 16th March.
