The end of Labor Day officially marks the end of summer meaning it’s time to go back to school! To make sure teachers and students in the Lowcountry are off to a good start this school year with the supplies they need, Total Beverage Solution set up a school supply donation collection box for the month of August. The supplies were then donated to Teachers’ Supply Closet, a local non-profit that serves as a free store for teachers in the Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester Counties of South Carolina. They provide free school supplies to teachers working in these counties at schools where 73% or more of the students are on the free or reduced meals program. They accept all the basic school supplies like crayons, No. 2 pencils, markers, and notebooks, but they also accept lightly used office or art supplies, among other items that would be useful in a classroom.
When dropping off the supplies, Teachers’ Supply Closet let us know during this time of year they get a lot of welcome donations coming in. They also accept donations during the months of January through March as they open the store again for teachers to come shop for the second half of the school year. Big thanks to our employees who donated school supplies!
