Each year, TBS presents the “First Class Award” to recognize an employee who embodies a positive work ethic, a collaborative spirit, and the qualities of someone you’d want on your team if you were starting a business from scratch. This award is voted on by coworkers and comes with a $1500 prize as well as a matching donation to a nonprofit charity of the winner’s choice.
We are excited to announce this year’s winner, Brendan Pearl. As the Supply Chain & Logistics Manager, Brendan plays a vital role in overseeing the end-to-end movement of our beer, wine, and spirits, as well as forecasting inventory. For his donation, Brendan chose the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, the nation’s leading nonprofit dedicated to colorectal cancer.
“I chose the Colorectal Cancer Alliance because supporting families and individuals facing the difficult reality of cancer is critically important”, says Brendan. “Colon cancer continues to impact far too many people, even though early awareness and prevention can make a real difference. My grandfather passed away from colon cancer in 2018, and supporting this organization is a way to honor his influence while helping others through an incredibly challenging time. This generous donation from TBS will help support awareness, prevention, and provide critical resources for those affected today.”
