123 Organic Tequila History

Master Distiller and CEO, David Ravandi has been in tequila making for over two decades.
When David envisioned 123 Organic Tequila (Uno Dos Tres), he was inspired to create a brand specifically with wine enthusiasts in mind. In doing so, he focused on crafting ultra premium tequilas using artisanal, small-batch distillations to capture the delicate floral aromas and complex mineral flavors that are characteristic of 123 Organic Tequila.

Tequila is an authentic spirit and it’s one that David has always enjoyed. His desire was to connect tequila’s cultural heritage through illustrating and retelling the ancient folklore about its origin with a truly superior product. 123 Organic Tequila is uniquely authentic in that way and very much a tribute to the rich heritage of Mexican culture.

123 Organic Tequila is EU and USDA certified organic, a certification required to pass inspection every year. After ten years when the organic agave plants mature, they start the second phase of the organic certification, which involves fermentation and distillation.

Distillery is in the town of Amatitan, about one hour north of Guadalajara. 123 grows all of their own agave and own a total of 400,000 plants. They do not buy agave from a third party nor sell agave to another producer. Being very Terroir focused, all of the organic agave used in the 123 Organic Tequila line is grown at 4,200 feet altitude. The organic agave used for the Extra Añejo, Diablito, comes from David’s single estate at 6,000 feet altitude.
Another differentiating character of this tequila portfolio, is that they use their own water wells to produce the portfolio, which has distinctive mineral properties that you will find in every expression of this beautiful, 123 Organic Tequila Portfolio.
