Principe de los Apóstoles Gin History

Apóstoles Gin was created by the brand’s founder, Tato Giovannoni at his award winning cocktail bar Floreria Atlantico, located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Floreria Atlantico has been repeatedly named one of the top 50 cocktail bars in the world by Drinks International, consistently ranking in the top twenty. Tato himself was rewarded with the Bartender’s bartender award in 2020.

Within the realm of New World Gins, Apóstoles differs greatly from the classic winter flavors of London Dry. It presents a nuanced profile that is more tropical and indigenous to the Southern Hemisphere incorporating our local botanical blend of Yerba Mate, Pink Grapefruit, Peppermint and Eucalyptus, taking inspiration from the traditional Tereré (cold infusion from the Northeastern part of Argentina).

The mission in creating the unique profile for this modern gin was to accentuate flavors that spoke of the region, and blended well in cocktails. Yerba Mate is a highly coveted ingredient in Argentina, symbolic of hospitality and used in various drinking and holistic medicinal applications. As one of the foundational botanicals in Apóstoles Gin, it’s bitter tea-like qualities are well complimented by floral pink grapefruit, and herbal notes from the peppermint and eucalyptus. The full profile is velvety smooth, with a soft texture, and hints of cocoa. Apóstoles Gin pairs nicely with bright tropical flavors in modern cocktails, and also complements other botanically rich spirits like vermouth and aromatized wines.
