Leonard Kreusch History

From their roots as a small Weingut on the Mosel river to a leading exporter, Leonard Kreusch offer a complete range of German wines – from classic vineyard-designated Qualitäts- and Prädikatswein in traditional packaging to varietal wines in both upscale and upbeat packaging from the Mosel and Rhine regions.

In 1897, at the age of 27, Leonard Kreusch founded the family winery in the small village of Schweich, as he began producing wines for the local market from grapes grown in the neighboring vineyards.

Many years later, after the repeal of prohibition in the United States in 1934, the family began exporting their wines to the U.S., as well as other export markets.

Well over a century later – now in the fourth generation – the company remains family-owned and operated and continues their mission of offering wines of outstanding quality and value.
