Marco Negri History

One day in 1993, Dr. Marco Negri looked at his stethoscope and decided he’d rather be making wine. Risking it all, Dr. Negri gave up his practice and purchased a 15-hectare estate in the Piedmont region of Italy. He enlisted the aid of Winemaker Donato Lanati, and devoted himself to producing a top shelf Moscato d’Asti, a sparkling Moscato wine. The gamble was a success.

What makes Marco Negri’s Moscata d’Asti one of the most prized examples of Moscato in the world, is that the wine is essentially made to order. Ripe Moscato bianco grapes are gently pressed, collected in stainless steel tanks and kept in a semi-frozen state until it is time to bottle. This ensures an unmatched freshness, as the cold enhances the aroma and flavors while shortening the time between fermentation and store shelves.

Moscato d’Asti has a low alcohol content and offers a rich, fruity bouquet. It is fabulous when paired with desserts, though many enjoy it as an aperitif as well.
