Meet LeAnna Haigler, our Senior Accountant based in our Mount Pleasant, SC office! LeAnna joined our team just over a year ago and is a valuable asset to our Finance & Accounting department. She would do anything for her rescue dogs, Pluto & Dolly, and loves visiting breweries and traveling all over the world. Find out more about LeAnna in our Q&A below.
How long have you been working for TBS?
Just over one year, I started 9/10/2018.
What is your title?
Senior Accountant
And what do you do in that role?
I work on daily & weekly treasury management and bank reporting, managing A/P, supplier & vendor payments, balance sheet reconciliations, and product cost accounting and reconciliation.
What is a day at TBS like in your shoes?
Typically, I’ll review our bank transactions and manage incoming bills from suppliers and vendors daily. Weekly I’ll work on getting payments out for those bills. Our Accounting team works together to close the books at the end of the month and get any other tasks done as needed!
Tell us a little about yourself:
I grew up in New Jersey, but I have called Charleston home since I came to the College of Charleston in 2003. I’m an only child but have always had fur-siblings. I’ve been married to my husband, Joey, for 5 years now. We have two rescued pit-bull mixes, Pluto & Dolly. I now consider myself “retired” from running, but I’d say one of my biggest accomplishments was finishing a marathon a few years ago!
Favorite drink?
My favorite beer of our brands is Saison Dupont. I also love the Castel des Maures Rosé – I’ve actually been drinking it for years before I started at TBS!
What do you like best about working at TBS?
The people! This has been the most welcoming and friendly place I’ve ever worked.
What is one thing at work you can’t do without?
Water in my YETI. Oh, and probably Excel.
Favorite place to travel?
This is a tough question! My husband and I like to try to plan a big trip almost every year to somewhere we’ve never been, and my picks are usually somewhere tropical. I would say my biggest adventure was a trip to Thailand and Indonesia in 2016. It was the most I’ve ever been out of my comfort zone, but I think that made it even more fun & memorable. We went to Hawaii (Kauai & Maui) for our honeymoon and I cannot wait to go back. Most of what we got to see there was so beautiful it didn’t seem real!
Describe your perfect meal:
I’m a vegetarian and the best meal I’ve had at a restaurant was at NIX in NYC – it’s not often I can pick from everything on the menu, much less prepared by a Michelin star chef! The meal I make best at home is eggplant parmigiana. I also have a hard time saying no to sweets, particularly chocolate and ice cream!
Any charity near and dear to your heart?
I have so much respect for people who run dog rescues. Without them I wouldn’t have my two pups! I always try to advocate for dog adoption and donate time & resources when I can, and I’m a volunteer at a local pet shelter called Pet Helpers.
What do you do in your free time?
I like staying active & being outdoors. I love spinning, kayaking, and walking the Ravenel bridge or on the beach. I also enjoy going to breweries with friends and seeing concerts when I get the chance.
If you could travel to one place on earth, right now, where would you go?
The Maldives
Favorite pizza topping?
Every time I go back to NJ, I have to get a white pizza – ricotta, garlic, and tomato slices!
Favorite ice cream flavor?
Mint chocolate chip
