In the second year running, Total Beverage Solution is proud to announce Krystin Kilman as recipient of the “First Class Award” in 2017. Fellow employees, Andrea Brady and Lindsay Waters, were also acknowledged for honorable mention.
The winner of the “First Class Award” is chosen by his or her colleagues for outstanding work performance, positive attitude and dedication to Total Beverage Solution. Krystin, Operations and Inside Sales Coordinator, has displayed all these characteristics since she first started working at Total Beverage Solution two years ago. In addition to the gratitude for her hard work and a prize of $1,000,Krystin was also granted $1,000 to donate to any charity of her choosing.
Krystin chose Boston Children’s Hospital Trust, which is the philanthropic resource for Boston Children’s Hospital. Ranked #1 Best Children’s Hospital by U.S. News & World Report in 2017-18, Boston Children’s Hospital is a leader in pediatric care for children from birth through 21 years of age.
Krystin’s niece, Grayson, underwent surgery at the hospital last year to remove a physical malformation she was born with. The staff at Children’s “did a wonderful job” and was “very transparent and informative when speaking with her” about the procedure and postoperative care Krystin was thrilled to explain. Her niece had to stay in the hospital for a week, and during that time Krystin’s sister was able to stay in housing provided by Children’s at no cost to her.
Having an opportunity to give back to the hospital that helped her own family, and to be able to help other children and families in need, was an easy choice for Krystin.. “I think it’s awesome that Total Beverage Solution is involved with charitable giving and wished more companies did, too. If employers make [charitable] giving important, it makes the employees want to give back as well.” She said she is very proud to work for a company that is involved in a “culture of giving.”
On winning the award itself, Krystin said, “I’m very humbled to know my hard work didn’t go unnoticed,” and that it is, “always nice to be recognized!”
