A common thread connecting Total Beverage Solution’s employees is our collective need to give back to the community around us.
Accounting Manager, Marina Terizeva, reflects on the importance of a giving culture at Total Beverage Solution, “I think it’s important for a company to not just think about its bottom line but how it impacts and interacts with the community.”
It is this impact and interaction Dave Pardus has not only worked to instill in his organizational culture but mirrors his own family values as well. And there is no better time than the holidays to give back. “We’ve participated in Charleston Basket Brigade since the beginning,” Dave remembers fondly, “my wife and girls love it, really take ownership of it. It’s a great way for the whole family to be involved in giving to the community.”
“When we started,” Jayne Pardus recalls, “the organization raised enough money to feed 70 families in the Charleston area.” The charity had two founding members and around 25 volunteers in 2008. “This year we raised enough to feed over 3,500 families with over 300 volunteers!”
Elysse Pardus, one of Jayne and Dave’s two daughters, has been involved with the charity since she was 8 years old, selling lemonade and going door to door to raise $3,000 in her first year. Now 16, Elysse and her sister Kaila have raised over $35,000 to date and are honored each year at the event for their impressive contributions.
Over the years, it hasn’t been only the Pardus family giving to the cause, but the TBS family as well. While a mere $30 donation could feed a family of six, the Thanksgiving Day meal delivery charity is always in need of volunteers to help pack meals and deliver to over 3,500 families in a single day, around the Charleston community.
Now in her second-year volunteering with Basket Brigade, Lindsay Waters, Trade Marketing Manager at TBS, looks forward to giving back every year. “It’s been so inspiring to see the direct impact your actions have on the community around you.” Lindsay remarks.
“Everyone finds their passion in giving, in whatever way they can.” Noted Jayne. “The benefit to Basket Brigade is how people can give in different ways, whether through donations or time and energy packing and delivering meals.”
With its flexibility, necessity and rewarding results, one can expect Total Beverage Solution to be involved in this charity for a long time to come.
