How long have you been working for TBS?
I began working for TBS in July 2014 have been with the company for nearly 3 years.
What is your title?
Wine & Spirits Market Manager, TX & Market Manager for AR.
And what do you do in that role?
In my current role, I manage a network of distributors, focusing on increasing sales and brand priorities, while being a presence in the market for TBS, advocating our brands in TX and AR, and partnering with key distributor personnel and customers to achieve our goals.
What is a day at TBS like in your shoes?
One of the things I enjoy most at TBS is that each of my days are different. In a state like TX, it is essential that I am always on the move and working to stay plugged in to market activities. It does take planning to be successful in those market days, so there is balanced amount of time at the home office managing the network of activity. So on any given day I could be working with a distributor representative, hosting a sales meeting or training, calling on accounts, or planning all that goes into those activities. I do enjoy knowing what’s happening across my territory and how I can continue to contribute to my team, the Southeast Region, and our quest for a 4th time Region of the Year Title!
Tell us a little about yourself:
I am a native Texan, living in the west Houston area. My beautiful wife, Brooke, and I have been married for 11 years and have four children, Pierce, Emery, Ellison and Paige. I went to school at Texas A&M and went straight into the beverage industry post-graduation. I am a Certified Sommelier and Certified Specialist in Wine, and I hope to begin working on the same levels in Spirits and Beer.
Favorite drink?
This is as hard as asking which is my favorite child? At the end of the day I am a wine guy. Our Italian wines from Batasiolo in Piedmonte and the Super-Tuscans from Castello di Bolgheri are showing particularly well now.
For a cocktail, it is hard to go wrong with and easy crowd pleasing Rum Punch.

What do you like best about working at TBS?
What’s not to love about working at TBS? We have an incredible portfolio of wine, spirits, and beer brands, a dynamic team of people from Sales to Marketing to Logistics, and clearly identified plans and goals for exciting company growth. I enjoy balancing time between each distributor and being able to work the market to identify new trends and tastes.
What is one thing at work you can’t do without?
As cliché as it may sound, I don’t last long without my morning coffee. However my wife and kids would tell you it’s my phone and to-do list.
Favorite place to travel?
Working with TBS has afforded me the chance to go to Italy, Australia, and Costa Rica, as well as some fun stateside locales outside of my market. I enjoy the travel and education but would choose a trip lounging on a beach with my wife for vacation.
Describe your perfect meal:
I have had the amazing opportunity to have more than my share of world class meals, both in the U.S. and abroad in this industry. Many of them special and memorable. However, I would say that the perfect meal for me would be surrounded by friends and family. One favorite was a simple meal of fish tacos that we grilled from a catch off the boat that morning. With some great wine, of course.
Any charity near and dear to your heart?
The Ballard House, in Katy, TX, has always amazed me with the work that they do, serving and housing patients and their families that are undergoing cancer treatment in the Houston area. Our small group at church has been blessed to have the opportunity to serve meals regularly and spend time with their residents.
What do you do in your free time?
In my free time I enjoy relaxing with my wife and kids. We love being outdoors, fishing, working in our garden, cooking and a good road trip. Being a Houstonian I support the local teams. Go Astros! I am working on training for my 2nd triathlon and am a fan of many genres of music, from classic rock to electronic. My best friend and I were djs on a radio show in college and still dj from time to time.
If you could travel to one place on earth, right now, where would you go?
