How long have you been working for TBS?
I started with TBS on August 16th, 2016
What is your title?
Pacific Northwest Market Manager
And what do you do in that role?
I manage the distributor and retail functions in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, Montana and Wyoming.
What is a day at TBS like in your shoes?
Every day is different, so I usually have a list of tasks I want to get accomplished and then figure out how to get them done by the end of the week! If I’m in my home market, I’m usually spending my time between managing my distributors, planning, and building my retail relationships. If I’m traveling I am usually working with my distributor reps in the trade. I keep in touch regularly with my Western Region team members for input, advice and direction – couldn’t do it without them!
Tell us a little about yourself:
I grew up in Bellingham, WA about 30 minutes from the Canadian border. I graduated from Western Washington University with a BA in Psychology and a BA in Business Administration. I’ve been in Seattle for 17 years now, where I live with my husband John, my 3-year-old son Samuel, my dog and two cats. I’ve been in the beverage business for about 10 years and so has my husband, so there is no shortage of “shop talk” at our house!
Favorite drink?
This is tough! I guess it depends on my mood, but wine is my “go to” beverage of choice. The Tohu Sauvignon Blanc, Castel des Maures and any of the Barolos from Batasiolo are my favorite wines from our book, but Amaro Montenegro is my overall favorite of ours.
What do you like best about working at TBS?
I love that no two days are ever the same! It can get crazy and busy and challenging but it is never boring! I also love our brands – they all have such great stories and represent the “best in class”!
What is one thing at work you can’t do without?
My phone. If I could build it into my arm, I would! For travel, I always bring my portable speaker because I love listening to music when I’m in my hotel room.
Favorite place to travel?
Well, I think we can all agree that our recent trip to New Zealand was AMAZING! I love going anywhere with a great beach, so long as there is sand, sun, ocean and hopefully a cocktail with an umbrella in it, I’m there!
Describe your perfect meal:
I would be hard pressed to find a meal I don’t like! When I’m traveling for work, I like to eat where the locals do and I love to cook when I’m home.
Any charity near and dear to your heart?
Last year I did an event with a group of women in beer and we raised $10,000 for Planned Parenthood in one night. I recently did an event and we raised just over $1,000 for PAWS. Both great charities and hope to do it again!
What do you do in your free time?
Ha! “Free time” is not something you get much of when you have a 3-year-old! When I do get the time, I have a group of girlfriends that I’ve known since kindergarten and we have been taking “girls trips” since we were 17. Spending time with my friends is definitely my favorite thing to do in my free time.
If you could have one super power, which would you choose?
Flying.
If you could travel to one place on earth, right now, where would you go?
Spain.
If you could go to one concert (even if the singer is dead or alive) what would it be?
Prince.
Favorite ice cream flavor?
Black licorice.
