Meet Lindsay Waters. She is an all around multitasker for the TBS team, and puts her heart and soul into all of her projects. Outside the office, Lindsay loves enjoying the beaches of Charleston and hanging out with her husband and their dog, Maggie. Find out more about Lindsay in our Q & A below.
How long have you been working for TBS?
Just over the 8 year mark – started September 2009!
What is your title?
Trade Marketing Manager
And what do you do in that role?
Like most people at TBS, my title encompasses a multitude of tasks/roles. Roughly 60% of my time is focused on all things Rekorderlig Cider: from forecasts to marketing plans to tracking sales & programs across the country. The other portion of my time is spent on business analytics and sales force effectiveness (volume forecasts, goal tracking, CRM initiative, etc).
What is a day at TBS like in your shoes?
No day over the last 8 years has ever been the same – my day generally starts off with reviewing some reports in VIP and NetSuite. And then from there it can vary depending on time of month, time of year, and what kind of projects are building on my to do list.
Tell us a little about yourself:
I am from Mt Pleasant SC – went to high school right around the corner. I have been married to my husband Zach for almost 4 years (he is also a Charleston native). We met at Clemson University where we were both business students. We have a Staffordshire Terrier named Maggie who has re-affirmed my vow to always rescue a dog from the shelter. And, most exciting of all, our family will be growing by two more feet as we will become first time parents this Spring!
Favorite drink?
Working for a beer, wine AND spirits company, I seem to like it all! The weather and my mood will generally dictate what I decide to order. I love any well-made, yet simple cocktail.
What do you like best about working at TBS?
There’s honestly not much I don’t like – hence why I’ve been here for the better part of a decade. TBS has continuously given me opportunities to grow and has kept me challenged with different projects and responsibilities. Seeing the growth within the company, from the time I started in 2009 to where we are now, is extremely rewarding and exciting. And of course, I love the people here. TBS would not be the same if it weren’t for all the amazing, dedicated, and kind individuals I get to work with every day.
What is one thing at work you can’t do without?
Nerd Alert: Double monitors.
Favorite place to travel?
I had the opportunity to travel to Italy with TBS; and my husband and I added on extra time for vacation. It was by far one of the greatest trips we’ve ever taken together. After that, I’d say anywhere tropical. I’m totally a warm weather-lay at the beach-frozen drink in my hand-kind of person.
Describe your perfect meal:
One of the dishes I’m most proud of is my lasagna. It’s surprisingly easy to make and is the ultimate comfort food. I also love any meal where we can get together with friends and have our “Framily Dinners.” They are some of my favorite, most cherished times.
Any charity near and dear to your heart?
Through church, I’ve been involved with East Cooper Meals on Wheels. They deliver daily meals to people in the community who are homebound or unable to provide their own meals.
What do you do in your free time?
Anything involving the beach; that is 100% my happy place and try to make it there at least once a week. I enjoy road cycling and I plan to (one of these days) sign myself up for a race. Also, my husband and I are both scuba certified and try to make one trip a year to a place where we can explore the vast ocean.
If you could travel to one place on earth, right now, where would you go?
Without a doubt: Japan. Don’t let the blonde hair fool you, I am one-quarter Japanese. It has always been a dream of mine to go to Japan with my grandmother and learn more about her background.
Best advice you ever received?
My grandfather, one of the most successful hardest working people I know, told me recently “don’t get so busy making a living that you forget to actually live.”
Favorite work snack?
I don’t know if it’s necessarily my favorite, but you can always find a bag of apple slices sitting on my desk.
